e-Learning

CHAS and Human Focus - a leading e-Learning service provider, have launched an online training partnership to make the world of work safer and enable compliance with health & safety training needs.

CHAS has launched an online training initiative to help contractors achieve the necessary health and safety qualifications for CHAS approval. This initiative will reduce the training burden on contractors by enabling them to access the large library of industry approved online contractor health and safety e-Learning courses provided by this leading national provider.

One of the biggest challenges on contractors gaining CHAS approval is putting in place the necessary health and safety training. Small and medium sized contractors face a particular challenge in this respect as they do not have the scale of operation for their own internal training department. Typically, they have to send staff away on courses which are expensive, disruptive and difficult to arrange at short notice.

CHAS contractors will now have the option of training their employees online via e-Learning courses at significantly lower cost and far greater convenience. The health and safety courses on offer are independently approved and comply with industry standards - they include:

UKATA Asbestos Awareness
IOSH courses including Managing Safely and Working Safely
Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) – Legionella for Duty Holders and Legionella Awareness
CDM for Duty Holders and CDM Awareness – RoSPA approved

There are over 100 courses to choose from and the training packages are designed to support all types of business from owner operators to larger corporate organisations.

The per trainee fee for these recognised e-Learning courses provides better value than the equivalent classroom option, as well as being more convenient to take. Where there is an urgent need for training to complete a CHAS approval the required courses can now be completed at the employee's convenience.

CHAS will be working closely with our partner to make this training initiative easy to access and a seamless part of the annual engagement process. CHAS make it easy to register and decide which courses are required and how to access them. There is also a free training advisory helpline to guide contractors to the most cost-effective option.
