CHAS Clients Benefit from a Wide Range of FREE Supply Chain Management Services
Find the right pre-qualified contractor for your project quickly and easily by searching the CHAS database of over 35,000 contractors working across all regions of the UK.
Simply enter your selection criteria by specifying your required work categories and geographic area to identify candidates who may be suitable for your project.
The CHAS supply chain matching service can help you to identify, address and resolve non-compliance issues with your existing supply chain to efficiently mitigate risk.
It takes just five to ten days for CHAS to undertake a compliance assessment on your behalf. We run your existing supply chain, whether small or large, against our national database of over 35,000 contractors and produce a brief report on competitor match and compliance rates.
You can use the results of your enquiry to generate board reports, provide a compliance profile of your entire supply chain network and start planning to reduce risk.
The next step is to work with CHAS to achieve a common standard across your whole supply chain — consider a campaign, executed by CHAS, to advise your supply chain of the rationale and standards that you wish to apply and how they can achieve the required status.
The CHAS Common Assessment Standard
Working in collaboration with Build UK, the Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) and other accreditation bodies, CHAS has introduced a new Common Assessment Standard that streamlines the accreditation process and makes it easier for clients to determine compliance across their entire supply chain.
Contractors simply provide one set of information on an annual basis to gain re-accreditation, answering standardised questions based on existing good practice and areas covered under PAS91.
Clients can select the level of accreditation contractors are required to have (CHAS Health and Safety, Premium, Premium Plus or Premier), but all modules in each tier must be completed to achieve the Common Assessment Standard. There are 12 modules available, comprising:
- Health and Safety
- Financial and Business Standing
- Corporate and Professional Standing
- Quality Management
- Equal Opportunities and Diversity
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
- Information Security and GDPR
- Building Information Modelling
- Anti-Bribery and Corruption
- Modern Slavery
Van Compliance Scheme (VCS)
Driving a van for work purposes is statistically proven to be one of the riskiest activities of any worker. CHAS has teamed up with the Freight Transport Association’s Van Excellence programme to develop a comprehensive Van Compliance Scheme (VCS) that safeguards organisations against prosecution or penalty under health and safety legislation.
The VCS accreditation scheme draws on Van Excellence’s expertise to provide verification that operators have the correct processes in place to run their vans in a safe and legal manner.
Our standardised accreditation questionnaire covers a wide range of areas, including the driver, the vehicle, safe working practices, record keeping and record retention. Through this thorough approach to vetting, we ensure that drivers and are meeting their responsibilities to their employees, clients and other road users. It also provides an ideal stepping stone towards full Van Excellence accreditation.
