International Women’s Day 2021 takes place on March 8th, with this year’s campaign theme dedicated to #ChooseToChallenge. As part of this year’s event, campaign organisers are encouraging people of all gender identities to call out gender bias and inequality and choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements.
At CHAS we recognise the value of a diverse workforce and are committed to promoting a working environment where all employees thrive. We have an almost even split of female to male employees and we have made a number of key female appointments in the past year, including Bindi Lakhani as our new Finance Director and Saba Khan as Head of Risk. We have celebrated these appointments by sharing news of them on our website and within industry publications to highlight our workforce’s growing diversity.
At CHAS we #choosetochallenge by constantly looking at how we can raise standards in the industries in which we operate which makes them more attractive places for everyone to work. In 2019 we became the first accreditation body to offer the Common Assessment Standard, the construction industry’s new gold standard for prequalification that helps to ensure supply chains operate to high standards across a wide range of areas, including health & safety, social value, environmental impact and equality.
You can take part in the Choose To Challenge pledge by sharing images of yourself on social media with your hand held high using the hashtag #ChooseToChallenge to show you’re in.
