Green Building Renewables saves thousands through CHAS member benefit

The Challenge

Longer Wait Times

Expand Fleet

Sustainability

Green Building Renewables, a rapidly growing renewables installer, was facing increasing operational demands as it aimed for a £100 million turnover by 2025. With a significant expansion across the UK, the company needed to update and expand its fleet of vans to meet growing customer demand and maintain its commitment to high standards of health, safety, and responsible business practices. The existing leasing model was not cost-effective, and the older vehicles did not align with the company’s green credentials or support its growth trajectory.

The Solution

Straight Forward Process

More Buying Power

Save time and Money

Discounted Vans

Green Building Renewables joined CHAS in early 2023, a decision that aligned with their commitment to compliance and safety. This membership provided access to various tools and benefits that supported business expansion, including a partnership with Vanaways introduced in 2024. Through the CHAS/Vanaways partnership, Green Building Renewables was able to transition from a leasing model to a procurement model for its fleet. This new approach offered discounted vans, servicing support, and the buying power of a larger organisation.

Working closely with Vanaways’ Regional Business Development Manager, Hannah Pearson, Green Building Renewables began phasing out its older vehicles and acquiring new ones at a significant discount. This strategic move allowed the company to enhance the quality of its fleet, reduce costs, and improve its green credentials.

The Outcome

van

The partnership between Green Building Renewables and Vanaways, facilitated by CHAS membership, resulted in substantial cost savings and operational improvements for the renewables installer. The company saved approximately £16,000 on its first four vehicles, which were delivered brand new with additional features like livery. The initial fleet expansion included eight vans within the first three months, with plans to acquire an additional 12 vans in the following six months.

This fleet upgrade enabled Green Building Renewables to efficiently meet the increasing demand for renewable and low-carbon technologies across the UK, supporting its goal to become the largest domestic installer of such technologies. The streamlined vehicle procurement process through Vanaways not only provided financial savings but also ensured reliability and sustainability in their operations.

The successful collaboration between Green Building Renewables, Vanaways, and CHAS underscores the value of strategic partnerships in fostering business growth, operational efficiency, and sustainability in the renewable energy sector. The company continues to expand its network, meet customer expectations, and contribute positively to the environment, all while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
