CHAS Membership vs Accreditation

CHAS Membership

CHAS membership is a recurring subscription that gives you access to our suite of membership benefits for an annual fee. These benefits could save your company hundreds of pounds every year and add value to your business.

CHAS membership does not automatically give contractors CHAS accreditation, and you will need to complete the requirements of the relevant pre-qualification assessment to become accredited.

CHAS membership benefits include

  • Business Shield support — Health and safety and environmental support line, step-by-step guides, templates, news and updates
  • Discounted e-learning training modules
  • Discounted eRAMS — Electronic risk assessment and method statement templates
  • Fuelcard — Discounted fuel at petrol stations across the UK
  • Insurance — Insurance solutions and expert advice from an award-winning broker that has supported over 100,000 businesses and individuals across the UK

CHAS Accreditation

CHAS accreditation demonstrates to our 1,000+ clients that your policies and procedures are up to date and comply with current legislation. Your information will be on a central portal, so you will be visible to all of our clients for job opportunities.

How Do I Become Accredited?
To become CHAS accredited, you will need to be a paid CHAS member and submit an application on the contractor portal. During the application process, you will undertake a detailed desktop assessment. Once you have submitted your application, an assessor will be assigned. Upon successful completion, you will receive an electronic accreditation certificate and approval letter. A physical copy of the accreditation certificate and stickers for your work vehicles will follow shortly in the post.

When Do I Renew My CHAS Membership and Accreditation?
The renewal dates for membership and accreditation may be different depending on the date you registered for your membership and the date you gained accreditation. Membership is a fixed annual event from when the payment is made. Accreditation can align with this or may be another part of the year depending on when you completed the assessment. Both must be renewed separately for continued accreditation and CHAS membership benefits.

What Next?
CHAS membership and accreditation work better together. To gain the full benefit of both, become a CHAS accredited member and make your world of work safer. Call 020 8545 3838 for further information or register for CHAS today.
